The Release Date for the Stardew Valley Console and Mobile 1.6 Update is Finally Here

The much-awaited release date for version 1.6 for console and mobile devices has finally been revealed by Stardew Valley developer Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe.

November 4, 2024, is when the 30-million-selling farm life simulation game 1.6 will launch on consoles and mobile devices, according to a tweet from the game’s developer. That includes the 1.6.9 update and applies to all console and mobile versions of the game, including the Nintendo Switch version.

ConcernedApe stated in a subsequent tweet that while console and mobile players may still enjoy nearly everything new with their current save, “it would be better to start again if you have any interest in starting a new farm,” after the release of 1.6.

ConcernedApe went on, “For example, some of the new items are different in year one than in year two plus.” “Besides, starting a new farm is exciting, right?”

ConcernedApe stated last month that he had not worked on his follow-up game “in a long time” because the console and mobile versions of 1.6 were giving him difficulties.

The free 1.6 update was released in March for PC, meaning console and mobile gamers will have to wait eight months for it to arrive on their devices. This update prompted a brand-new 10/10 Stardew Valley review from Gamexta. At first, ConcernedApe anticipated that the ports would be made available after a month.

A visibly irritated ConcernedApe apologized to irate fans in a tweet sent out last month and said he would not start working on his upcoming game, Haunted Chocolatier, again until Stardew 1.6 was complete. There is no set release date for Haunted Chocolatier, which was unveiled in 2021.

“I have always launched on PC first, because it is sort of a ‘beta test’ to make sure there are no severe (e.g. save-destroying) issues, which are a far bigger deal on consoles because they can not be patched out as quickly,” ConcernedApe tweeted over the weekend. But I never meant for there to be such a long wait.

ConcernedApe gave an explanation of why he truly wants Pam to appear in a possible Stardew Valley crossover with Fortnite earlier this month.
