The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S have officially launched Valorant.

The well-liked tactical shooter game “Valorant,” developed by Riot Games, is no longer exclusive to PCs.

After a brief period of beta testing, the game was officially released on Friday for the Xbox Series X and S consoles as well as the PlayStation 5 in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil.

It should be noted that Riot claims that to “keep ‘Valorant’s’ famous standard for competitor integrity,” cross-play between PC and console player matches will not be permitted.

After a brief Open Beta phase, Riot Games shocked gamers by formally releasing Valorant on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Players in the US, Canada, Europe, Japan, and Brazil may now access Valorant Console, which is advertised as offering the “same uncompromising, competitive experience that we have provided PC players with for years: a precise, team-based, tactical shooter.”

As was previously mentioned, Riot Games wants to “keep Valorant’s famous reputation for competitive integrity,” hence cross-play between PC and console players will not be possible. However, gamers of the Xbox and PlayStation will be able to play together.

Riot Games has informed players that their Battle Pass progress, Agent unlocks, Friends List, Collection (Skins, Player Cards, Gun Buddies, etc.), and Collection will all be carried over, even though that may not be the best news for everyone. Moreover, “simultaneous platform releases of all live patch balances, new agents, maps, premium content, and extra live service features” would be available for both PC and console gamers.

Production Director of Valorant Arnar Gylfason stated, “We feel sure to deliver on our gameplay promise for console gamers, having gotten so much insightful input from players during Limited Beta.” “We look forward to seeing console gamers feel the same gaming excitement as VALORANT PC users, whether it is making that perfect shot, pulling off a beautiful team play, or eliminating the opposition.”

While Valorant can be played for free, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be pleased to learn that all of the present and upcoming Agents will be unlocked.
