The only goal of the first-person shooter I Am Your Beast is to kill people quickly. You could theoretically still manage to make it to each bite-sized level’s exit intact by stumbling around aimlessly like an Australian breakdancer at the Olympics, but achieving the best completion time requires repeated runs to chisel out the most effective killing paths gradually. The result is a fast-paced, three-hour-long explosion of blood spray and cel-shaded bullets, enhanced by incredibly smooth controls and an engaging soundtrack that makes you want to keep playing. The only real drawback is that the unquenchable desire for speed leaves…
Renowned Nintendo developer and producer of the Zelda series, Eiji Aonuma, has disclosed that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was nearly named Tears of the Dragon instead. Aonuma stated in the Japanese art book for Tears of the Kingdom that the team decided against using that name in case it would give away a significant story aspect to fans. Nintendo Everything translated his remarks. Nintendo believed the Tears of the Dragon would overshadow the Light Dragon that soars above Hyrule and diminish the impact of the unexpected revelation that (spoiler alert!) Zelda is indeed the dragon. It…
The PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller’s price has been quietly increased globally by Sony.
The standard PlayStation 5 DualSense controller now costs more globally, according to a discreet pricing increase from Sony. Today, September 9, 2024, many vendors, including Sony’s PlayStation Direct, raised the price of all DualSense colorways by $5 without the business making a formal announcement. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Target all experienced price increases. The more costly hues, such as Volcanic Red, Sterling Silver, and Cobalt Blue, are now $79.99 instead of $74.99. The regular DualSense in White, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, Midnight Black, and Gray Camouflage is now $74.99 instead of $69.99. Around the world, there have…
Developer Bungie has announced “significant adjustments” for Destiny 2 to win back players during difficult times for the company. According to Bungie, the live service first-person shooter, which is presently seeing its lowest concurrent player count ever on the PC platform Steam, will be implementing a new strategy going ahead that will see the release of four significant free content updates and two medium-sized expansions per year. Through a new multi-year saga, the introduction of a non-linear tale, greater structural innovation, and notable enhancements to basic game activities and rewards, Bungie stated that this development intends to improve the player…
In honor of Starfield’s first birthday, Bethesda has released some fresh information on the game’s impending expansion, Shattered Space. Shattered Space, the game’s first expansion, will be released on September 30, 2024. The sci-fi role-playing shooter was released on September 6, 2023, and was Bethesda’s first new franchise in a long time. Bethesda hinted at “much more coming” to Starfield beyond Shattered Space in a tweet, but for the time being, the company only shared some new information about the expansion. The addition of more than fifty new places to find and explore around Va’ruun’kai—the new planet that players can…
The player of Baldur’s Gate 3 discovers a hilariously underwhelming, scrapped evil ending in Patch 7.
As players of Baldur’s Gate 3 race to unlock every secret in the game’s enormous Patch 7, which was just published for PC, one player has discovered a deleted evil ending that is, to put it mildly, a touch underwhelming. By simply obstructing the “impossible” tag, YouTuber SlimXG (h/t GamesRadar) was able to access the game’s ending that was still there in the files. By doing this, he stumbled into a brand-new, completely animated cinematic that depicts the player character, after an evil run, leaving all of this tadpole silliness behind. Although Lae’zel is the main character in SlimXG’s footage,…
I can now pass away with the knowledge that I used an elephant’s trunk to shoot honey bubbles skyward, leaped up on them to get to the top of a triple-stack of hens hiding in eggs, and then used that same trunk to remove the yolk from those eggs. I can, therefore, pass away contentedly. While Sony has provided us with a huge library of excellent PlayStation games for the past thirty years, no mascot platformer has ever been able to match Nintendo’s Mario’s regular heights. Try as Crash Bandicoot did. Jak and Daxter ran fairly well. Thank God, even…
The latest update that finally adds fishing to the game was inspired by fan art of No Man’s Sky.
Fishing has finally been included in No Man’s Sky in its upcoming major update, following a fan artwork that stopped game developer Hello Games in its tracks. The long-awaited addition of fishing to the space simulation, Hello Games’ Aquarius upgrade, was launched today, September 4, in response to the release of No Man’s Sky’s Worlds Part 1 update and its new water technology. The fan painting below, which depicts the player’s avatar fishing while perched on their spaceship, served as the inspiration for this fishing function. It was posted on Reddit under the topic “I am a simple man with…
As I was discharging bolt rifle rounds with my two squadmates on the first level of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, I could not help but smile at how fantastic it felt to be back in this futuristic grimdark battle. Even though Space Marine 2 was released more than ten years ago, it manages to bring the squad-based shooter series back to life quite well. Running and gunning feels fantastic, the locations are varied and stunning, and fighting with your team—whether they be friends or bots—can foster a fierce sense of camaraderie. I had a great time playing through its…
Developer Larian Studios has revealed that the much-awaited (and maybe last) Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will launch on PC this week. A video of CEO Swen Vincke announcing the release timeframe at PAX West was posted on the studio’s X/Twitter account, although no particular date was given. He stated last week that “Patch 7 is coming out next week,” which indicates that it would be available between September 2 and September 8, 2024. Although Larian had previously stated that Patch 7 would be available in September, the release date for the console and Mac versions is still unknown.…
