Behaviour Interactive revealed today that the Castlevania chapter would be available in Dead by Daylight later this month, following a brief tease during its anniversary webcast earlier this year.

Behaviour Interactive announced in a press release that Dead by Daylight’s Castlevania chapter will be playable as of August 27. Two new playable characters will be added in this chapter: Trevor Belmont, the protagonist of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse, will become the new survivor, and Dracula will become the latest murderer to join the cast.

Even though Trevor is not the strongest guy in Belmont, Behaviour suggests that his “special expertise serves to set him apart,” including his ability to work well with others, which makes him a valuable team member. Dracula, on the other hand, can assume a variety of shapes; it should be noted that he can take the forms of a wolf, bat, or vampire.

According to Dead by Daylight Creative Director Dave Richard, “We wanted to create fluidity in the way players may have Dracula move between his numerous forms and have it feel seamless.” Having such powerful vampire abilities was very great when I first played Symphony of the Night, one of my all-time favorite games. The possibility to place players in the role of The Dark Lord in Dead by Daylight was enticing and exceptional for us.”

The chapter is currently available on the Steam public test build for PC players of Dead by Daylight.

Because the levels in the game are produced procedurally, players will never come across a boring map. In the first person, take on the role of the killer and murder every victim before they manage to flee. Alternatively, work with your buddies to attempt and outwit the killer in the third person while he pursues you through a nightmare environment by using your superior awareness and agility.
