The Bloober Team is working on a horror game that is exclusive to the Switch 2.

Bloober Team, the developer of Cronos: New Dawn and the remake of Silent Hill 2, is working on several new projects, such as Layers of Fear: The Final Masterpiece Edition, a disorienting horror game for the Nintendo Switch 2, and several smaller games from its subsidiary Broken Mirror Games, including an enigmatic Switch-only game codenamed Project M.

Although the year is almost over, the Masterpiece Edition is still listed as coming in 2025. However, according to the company’s most recent investor briefing, it is a “complete edition,” which likely includes the base game along with new content and the updated graphics from Layers of Fear in 2023.

What about Broken Mirror’s product? Based on the 1980s comic of the same name, I Hate This Place is an isometric horror film that is still scheduled for release next month but has been postponed to January 29, 2026. However, two code-named games, Project M and Project F, are also being developed.

While Project M is anticipated to be released next year, we know almost little about Project F. There isn’t much revealed in the live-action teaser that we saw earlier this year, except that the M might represent “Marionette”! Bloober affirms that it will only be accessible on the original console and Switch 2.

Naturally, Bloober is also redoing the original game in the series following the tremendous success of the Silent Hill 2 Remake. Unfortunately, there isn’t much to go on, but the Silent Hill logo and its recognizable music were shown off briefly during the June Konami Press Start Live event. Unfortunately, no release date was specified; nevertheless, this came after news broke in February that Bloober Team had inked a contract with Konami to create a new game based on the Japanese company’s intellectual property.

“Layers of Fear is an atmospheric tour through the shattered psyches of some seriously tortured artists, but predictable shock tactics fail to provide more than a handful of genuine scares, let alone layers of them,” we wrote in our review of the 2023 Layers of Fear remake, giving it a score of 6/10.
