Major Changes in First Descendant Patch 1.0.2

The famous looter shooter First Descendant has received a major upgrade, and the developer, Nexon, has shared some of the reasoning that went into making the game.

Patch 1.0.2, which is currently available for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, adds the hard mode Infiltration Operations matchmaking that was promised, renames creature patterns, marginally lessens the painful grind, and addresses several bugs. Among the other highlights is the slowing down of the Instructor robot’s speech (which was too quick to follow).

Nexon stated in the patch notes that it does not want to weaken the meta builds that players are presently employing to quickly dispatch Colossi, the game’s monsters, in a matter of seconds. According to Nexon, these kinds of builds—which center on the rare machine gun Tamer and the character Gley—were to be expected.

Nexon stated, “We have seen that the community is concerned about potential nerfs to Tamer and Gley’s limitless magazine builds.” “There are no imminent plans to do so, but this meta is quite strong and falls within the scope of what the development team has planned.

Please take full advantage of them as some weapons are stronger than Tamer and there are numerous character builds that can challenge Gley’s limitless magazine. We are thrilled to see Descendants using innovative builds to quickly defeat strong Colossi, as this is something we have been anticipating.

Content Improvements

  • Added the matchmaking feature known as “Start Public Operation” to Infiltration Operations (Hard). If you modify the reward you have chosen, “Start Public Operation” will still be accessible; however, only “Start Private Operation” will be available if you choose another option.
  • Named Monsters’ sequential type Immunity Spheres were removed. They are now either the extermination types or the default ones.
  • Three times as many rare basic minerals were dropped from Encrypted Vaults. They will now also be dropped by the Elite Vulgus that show up in Field Missions and Infiltration Operations.
  • Shortened the duration of the Kingston “Vulgus Data Transmitter” hacking mission from two 90-second occupations to two 60-second professions.
  • Redesigned the Battle Pass Battle Supply Shop button to resemble the Bonus Shop banner, which increased visibility.
  • Fixed a bug where the Acquisition Information pop-up caused the Library window to shut when the map was accessed and closed.
  • Extended the length of party invitation messages to facilitate confirmation and acceptance.
  • Extended the lines of the Descendant Instructor.
  • Closer proximity to the guiding NPC encountered while first arriving in Albion.

Enhancements in Optimization

  • [PC] By lowering the CPU burden during shader creation, the stability of the shader preparation process was improved.

While we regularly monitor this issue, please refer to Intel’s official instructions if you experience any problems with a 13th or 14th-generation Intel.

  • [PC] Reduced GPU memory consumption when quality is set to High or higher.
  • [PC] Resolved a problem where character skins occasionally displayed strangely when playing for extended periods with low graphics settings.
  • [PC] Resolved an issue that permitted the setting of frame restrictions while utilizing AMD’s and Nvidia’s Frame Generation.
  • [Common] Resolved a problem where, depending on the view, shadows would occasionally appear strangely.
  • [Common] We have made some additional fixes for optimization, and we will keep an eye on them.

Bug Fixes

(1) UI/UX

  • Resolved a problem with the Library’s unused item display.

(2) Descendants

  • Resolved a problem where, according to module settings, descendants could not exit DBNO if their HP fell below -100%.
  • Resolved a problem whereby Kyle would periodically take off while participating in “Repulsion Dash” with “Superconductivity Thrusters.”
  • Resolved a bug that prevented Esiemo from rising again when using “Arche Explosion” and experiencing knockback.

(3) Modules

  • Resolved a problem where the “Sharp Precision Shot” module’s gain in Firearm ATK per stack was multiplied rather than totaled.

(4) Equipment

  • Resolved a bug where damage over 100,000 was not applied by a weapon’s attribute damage.
  • Resolved a bug wherein, although the Reactor’s skill cost and skill cooldown metrics were better with lower values, greater values were shown as the Ultimate (Gold) option.
  • Resolved a bug where, although the Weapon Change Speed stat was better with higher values, lesser values were shown as the Ultimate (Gold) choice.

(5) Field

  • Resolved a bug that prevented “Shape Stabilizer Form 8” and “Amorphous Material Pattern: 118” from being dropped at “Frozen Valley: Vulgus Strategic Outpost” in Fortress (Hard).
  • Resolved a bug that prevented rewards from dropping from Elite Vulgus in the White-night Gulch “Upper Hatchery” Battlefield Missions.
  • Resolved a problem where certain Vulgus Strategic Outposts experienced interrupted monster spawning.

(6) Instance Dungeon

  • Resolved a problem where materials for Vespers resource boxes were dropped from resource boxes in Hagios, Echo Swamp, Agna Desert, White-night Gulch, and Fortress Infiltration Operation.

(7) Research

  • Resolved a problem when Ultimate Descendants’ core materials were mistakenly shown as Rare rather than Ultimate Tier.

(8) Miscellaneous

  • [In French] Resolved a problem where the phrase “Exit Game” appeared in the menu for “Go to the title screen.”
  • [In French] Resolved a problem in the narrative when “Dreadful Abomination” was substituted for “Ultimate Chimera.”
  • [In French] The Executioner Tier 3 Set 4 probability display now includes the missing words.
