Finally Unveiled: The Real Horror of Fortnite’s Skibidi Toilet Crossover

Finally, the dreaded and feared Skibidi Toilet has made an appearance in Fortnite. Last night, the game’s expected update was formally released, and the Fortnite community has responded to it with skepticism, uncertainty, and excitement thus far.

Let us start by discussing the crossover itself. The official Fortnite X account confirmed the existence of a toilet, plunger, and camera emoji in succession, along with the date: December 18, 2024, after we first learned about it earlier this week from leakers. Plunger pickaxes, a Plungerhead character skin, and two backpacks—one that matches the Plungerhead outfit and the other that is the iconic Skibidi Toilet himself—are all part of the Skibidi Toilet bundle that was on sale for 2,200 V-bucks when this article was written. The actual update went live last night. The Plungerman skin is also available in a Lego form.

That concludes the partnership; however, the Flush Factory and the original map have just been brought back, so there is already a handy toilet-themed area that is just waiting to be overrun with Skibidi gibberish:

The community has differing opinions about the addition of Skibidi Toilet to Fortnite. Some critics believe Fortnite has gone too far in integrating the well-known meme, calling it childish and a sign of a decline into complete silliness for what is considered deserving of cooperation:

Overall, it appears that the Fortnite community thinks the addition of the Skibidi Toilet is a good idea, at least since the Plungerman skin looks rather awesome.

Here’s a brief explanation in case you, like other Fortnite users, are completely unaware of what this toilet thing is: Alexey Gerasimov’s Skibidi Toilet is a collection of web shorts that were posted to YouTube through Gerasimov’s DaFuq!? channel.Boom. By “shorts,” we do mean extremely brief; the first several episodes are just a few seconds long and were made with Garry’s Mod, which used elements from Counter-Strike and Half-Life 2. In the series, a man’s head emerges from a toilet while a mashup of Timbaland’s “Give It to Me” and Biser King’s “Do Dom Yes Yes” plays.

Early episodes are a little incoherent, but as the series goes on, a plot about an arms race between a race of humans with video cameras for heads and the Skibidi Toilets—of which there are several of various sizes and with various heads bursting out—emerges. From there, the plot develops, more recently focusing on extraterrestrial Skibidi Toilets and a cinematographer named Plungerman.

The whole thing, while absurdist, is far more complex than you might imagine just from seeing the image of the head in the toilet. It’s got enough going on (and is popular enough) that there’s reportedly a film and TV adaptation effort underway from Michael Bay.

If you love Fortnite but Skibidi Toilet is still a bit much for you, don’t worry. The game gets so many constant collaborations, that the toilet-fest will quickly be drowned out by the next big thing, which happens to be Mariah Carey emerging from a giant block of ice to ring in the holidays. It’s almost time!
