Fans of Marvel Rivals are pushing the boundaries of Mister Fantastic’s meme potential.

Fans of Marvel Rivals just spent their first weekend with the new playable characters Invisible Woman and Mister Fantastic, but Reed Richards is not being taken as seriously by some as other heroes.

One of Marvel rivals’ first post-launch characters, Stretchy Scientist made his appearance with the premiere of Season 1 on Friday, January 10, bringing his elastic abilities to the battlefield. In addition to allowing him to enlarge his physique and adopt a more tank-like role, his Duelist abilities enable him to launch long swings at one or many adversaries at once. Most people can not get past how ridiculous Mister Fantastic can be until players figure out how to use him for the rest of the roster.

Characters with the ability to morph their bodies into odd shapes have a lot of potential for becoming memes. For instance, Mister Fantastic’s Elastic Strength ability may have already drawn some of the many parallels to Monkey D. Luffy, the main character from One Piece. Even while NetEase has recently cracked down on modding, the concept has already garnered enough popularity for the modding community to produce a One Piece custom skin. Although being a rubber bodybuilder is amusing in and of itself, some fans, like X/Twitter user @BOOMERANG_117, used their creativity by seeing Reed Richards from Marvel Rivals sans his new beard.

Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman have at least made a big impression in their debut weekend, but we will have to wait and see if they remain Marvel Rivals fans’ favorites. With the addition of The Thing and Human Torch as playable characters in the second part of Season 1, viewers can anticipate becoming enamored with the remaining members of the Fantastic 4 cast. We can only hope that the rest of the team will make an equally impressive debut when they finally arrive.

In the meantime, check out the Marvel Rivals Season 1 patch notes, and official stats that reveal Marvel Rivals’ pick and win rates in Quickplay and Competitive modes for Season 0. Additionally, vote for the most powerful Marvel Rivals characters on our community tier list and keep an eye out for the most recent codes for free skins.
