The Wild Hunt mod for The Witcher 3 restores the cut endings.

Content from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s conclusion, in which Ciri turns into a witch herself, has been restored by a moderator.

The Witcher 3 typically ends with credits, however, NexusMods user Merigoldmaribor managed to get the scenes back up and running with functional dialogue, revealing a small amount of extra content. The scene continues to show the pair’s next moves when Ciri moves to escape after receiving her blade from Geralt.

“Yen is waiting for you in Ellander,” declares Geralt, referring to the Temeria duchy located east of Vizima. The main city of both the original Witcher game and its forthcoming remake, this is the Temerian capital where players visit Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher 3.

“We can meet her in two days if we hurry,” Ciri replies. The two then walk towards the inn door and the game cuts to black, triggering the credits in this version. An alternative version of the scene references Triss Merigold if players entered a relationship with her as Geralt and not Yennefer of Vengerburg. Those trying to connect the dots between this hidden ending and CD Projekt’s Polaris, essentially The Witcher 4, probably won’t have much luck, however. As Ciri notes, the duchy is only two days away so likely isn’t a tease for a location in the new game, which is expected to feature Ciri as the protagonist as Geralt’s story has come to an end.

Beyond those two days, too, the story has advanced. The Witcher: Curse of Crows, a canon comic series, chronicles Ciri’s life as a witcher and her travels with Geralt and Yennefer around Novigrad, the primary setting for The Witcher 3. Three years after the conclusion of the main game, in the Blood & Wine expansion, Geralt finally retires to Toussaint.

Therefore, there is not much to be teased about the future in the trimmed footage, but Witcher fans will be pleased to see additional game secrets revealed over 10 years after it was released in 2015. In the past, fans have brought back more content, such as a sizable portion of gameplay taken from one of The Witcher 3’s last missions.
