The PlayStation 5 DualSense Controller’s price has been quietly increased globally by Sony.

The standard PlayStation 5 DualSense controller now costs more globally, according to a discreet pricing increase from Sony.

Today, September 9, 2024, many vendors, including Sony’s PlayStation Direct, raised the price of all DualSense colorways by $5 without the business making a formal announcement. Amazon, Best Buy, Target, and Target all experienced price increases.

The more costly hues, such as Volcanic Red, Sterling Silver, and Cobalt Blue, are now $79.99 instead of $74.99. The regular DualSense in White, Starlight Blue, Galactic Purple, Cosmic Red, Midnight Black, and Gray Camouflage is now $74.99 instead of $69.99.

Around the world, there have also been price increases; in the UK, there has been a £5 increase, while in Australia, there has been a $10 increase. The PS5 system itself has not seen a price rise that has been declared or implemented.

The controller rise occurred two weeks after Sony sharply raised the PS5’s pricing in Japan and appears to be close to announcing the PlayStation 5 Pro officially.

Mark Cerny, principal architect for the PlayStation 4, will host a nine-minute stream tomorrow, September 10, at 8 a.m. Pacific, 11 a.m. Eastern, and 4 p.m. UK. Although it has not been formally confirmed, the PS5 Pro has been repeatedly leaked, so it is practically a given that it will be the main attraction of tomorrow’s display.
