The Player of Silent Hill 2 Finds Unsettling Messages Concealed in Television Static

Bloober Team, the developers of the popular survival horror game Silent Hill 2 Remake, made a few minor adjustments to the game, and now fans have found another: eerie messages concealed in TV static.

After learning the secrets, YouTuber Shiba posted two videos, according to PC Gamer. They said, “A message broadcast in Morse code is playing on the TV in Brookhaven Hospital.” It is challenging to hear the sound clearly because it is largely muffled by the TV’s static. The Morse code is unique, though, and has a telegraph-like clicking sound.

Shiba demonstrates this on the TV and interprets the code as “again and again and again” indefinitely. The same messages are shown on the TVs in the Boar section of Toluca Prison’s nurses’ lounge and break room. The Woodside Apartments set, Brookhaven Hospital set, and room 106 at Jack’s Inn set all show the same message, “Why did you do it James?” but not all of the TVs in the game do this.

It is uncertain if the game has any further answers, although both statements support several fan hypotheses. In any case, they heighten the enigma and legend of Silent Hill 2 and raise hopes for future discoveries. Many fans of the once-dormant horror series are hungry for more after Bloober Team and publisher Konami’s October 8 release of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which received resounding critical acclaim and saw robust sales.

Although Bloober is now concentrating on its sci-fi survival horror game Cronos: The New Dawn, it has stated that it is open to creating additional Silent Hill titles. “Silent Hill 2 is a terrific way to explore – or revisit – one of the most dread-inducing locales in the history of survival horror,” Gamexta wrote in our 8/10 review of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
