The Official Release Date of Spider-Man 4

Sony Pictures has formally announced the release date of Spider-Man’s upcoming MCU film, which is July 24, 2026. Shang-Chi filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, who was said to be taking over when the Russo brothers took over the next Avengers film, will, as anticipated, be directing it.

The new release date for Spider-Man 4 places it two months after Avengers: Doomsday, making 2026 a major summer for the MCU. It is akin to Spider-Man: Far From Home, which came out soon after Avengers: Endgame. Tom Holland is also very busy at the moment because he will be starring in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, which is also coming out in July 2026.

Other than the fact that it seems to continue where No Way Home left off, not much is known about the tale. In a few recent updates, Holland said that filming will start in the summer of 2025 and that, despite some work still needed, the script “lit a fire” under him once he read it with co-star Zendaya. Following his unexpected role in No Way Home, Andrew Garfield has stated that he will not be starring in the upcoming movie.

Given that Tony Stark is his buddy and mentor in the MCU, it would seem reasonable to assume that Holland’s Spider-Man would feel something for Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom. Persistent references to Sony’s Venom films are also present. Sony Pictures’ announcement of Spider-Man 4‘s release date on the same day Venom: The Last Dance hit theaters was not a coincidence.
