The creator of Monster Hunter, Shinki Mikami, claims there is no room for a Dino Crisis reboot.

Creator Shinji Mikami of Monster Hunter has stated that the game’s success precludes the possibility of a remake or reboot of the well-liked PlayStation title Dino Crisis.

The well-known developer told Eurogamer that while he’s shocked that fans are clamoring for more of the series, he doesn’t believe it’s because of another well-liked series that centers on slaying large animals.

“I’m very surprised to hear that [fans want more Dino Crisis],” Mikami stated. The marvels of dinosaurs and the things that can be accomplished with them have been captured by Monster Hunter in recent years.

Since Monster Hunter has grown to be such a popular game, I don’t think there is much room for another Dino Crisis game, even if I were to decide to produce a remake or new version. Indeed, it is unexpected.
Dino Stalker and the concluding Dino Crisis 3 weren’t as well regarded by fans as the first two Dino Crisis sequels, which were released in 1999. Since the latter was published in 2003, 21 years have passed since the last Dino Crisis game was launched.

Strangely, Monster Hunter debuted a year later and has since expanded to become Capcom’s most successful franchise. The following entry, Monster Hunter Wilds, was revealed in December 2023 and is anticipated in 2025.

In our most recent preview, IGN stated that the game is “shaping up to be pretty much what [we] hoped for A Monster Hunter that embraces the parts of Rise that made it so much more inviting, but also doesn’t shy away from the larger scale and spectacle that helped make World the more enduring entry.”

With Exoprimal, a live-service cooperative shooter released last year, Capcom attempted to create a completely new dinosaur video game. However, the game only lasted a year until the developer announced it would no longer get new material.

When Exoprimal was announced back in 2022, many thought that would be the end of any potential Dino Crisis rebirth. However, Capcom recently teased fans by tweeting a single image to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the beloved dinosaur survival horror game.
