The announcement of Gravity Forge, a Dieselpunk “Horde-Slaying Movement Shooter”

Gravity Forge, a new third-person cooperative “horde-slaying movement shooter” powered by Unreal Engine 5, has been announced by developer Relay. It immerses you in the role of a skilled parkour assassin who can control gravity in a diesel-punk setting, including walking on walls and creating gravity wells. It is being developed for the PC. View the initial trailer above and the gallery with the initial screenshots below.

“Gravity Forge gives the player an additional degree of freedom in both movement and battle,” Relay explains how they hope to differentiate their game. The environment turns into a weapon. You will be able to walk on walls, make gravity wells, alter the environment’s mass, size, and gravity, and find new ways to engage with it. Your greatest tool in this spatial shooter is your creativity.”

They articulate their goals for combat as follows: Imagine a machine gun in the hands of the Prince of Persia. Or Doomguy using a Warframe’s smooth, quick movement and a katana. You can get an idea of how Gravity Forge plays by combining that with Max Payne’s signature cinematic flair of bullet-time action.”

Gravity Forge is set in the dieselpunk city of Gaston City, where you play as Elsa, a treasure hunter whose big theft goes awry, leaving her to deal with the ramifications of the “Living Magnet” technology she’s unleashed.

If you would want to track Gravity Forge’s development, add it to your Steam wishlist.
