Star Wars: Outlaws underperformed, according to Ubisoft

Along with an announcement of its Steam release date, Ubisoft acknowledged that its open-world Star Wars Outlaws game had underperformed.

Several noteworthy developments at Ubisoft were revealed in a financial update, one of which being the postponement of the company’s debut release, Assassin’s Creed Shadows. This was announced together with the news that Star Wars Outlaws would launch “softer than planned” on November 21 on Steam.

“Star Wars Outlaws early sales proved softer than expected, despite solid reviews (Metacritic 76) and user scores across the First Party and Epic shops (3.9/5) that represent an engaging and realistic Star Wars environment,” stated Ubisoft.

To engage a sizable audience during the holiday season and establish Star Wars Outlaws as a solid long-term performer, Ubisoft’s development teams are currently fully mobilized to swiftly implement a series of updates to polish and improve the player experience. This is in response to player feedback.

For a long time, it was anticipated that Ubisoft would not be pleased with Star Wars Outlaws. Soon after the business’s August 26 release date, shares fell to a nearly 10-year low, and one angry investor even demanded that the company go private as a result of the decline.

The game received a 7/10 in Gamexta review. “Star Wars Outlaws presents an enjoyable interstellar robbery experience with remarkable exploration; nonetheless, its launch is hampered by basic stealth, monotonous combat, and an excessive number of problems,” we stated.
