Elden Ring: The Erdtree Patch’s Shadow Discusses Overpowered Weapons and Other Issues

The first major game update since the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, Version 1.12.3, has been made available by Elden Ring developer FromSoftware. It weakens the power of strong weapons.

The patch, which is described in detail on publisher Bandai Namco’s website, contains several adjustments and bug fixes, including the weakening of several weapons that are thought to be excessively powerful.

Along with something utilized in the “OP” build that was found hours before the patch was released, they are the Smithscript Dagger, Smithscript Cirque, Smithscript Axe, Smithscript Greathammer, Smithscript Spear, Smithscript Shield, and Golem Fist. Using thrusting shields “consumes less stamina than planned” was a bug that FromSoftware “fixed.”

The range of the throwing attacks of the Smithscript Dagger and Smithscript Cirque has also been extended, somewhat offsetting the total damage reduction. The complete set of patch notes may be seen below.

The bug in Steam Deck that prevents the game from being played for longer than five minutes and may cause damaged data has still gone unreported by FromSoftware.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki stated before the game’s release that FromSoftware “truly pushed the envelope” with the bosses in Shadow of the Erdtree, which will be released on June 21, 2024. In reality, players have to battle an optional boss to enter the expansion, which makes it difficult.

Gamxta’s comprehensive guide, which covers Shadow of the Erdtree’s new weaponry, its numerous quest lines, and how to overcome those annoying new bosses, is a great resource for players who are anxious to explore every inch of the expansion.

“As the main game did before it, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree elevates the bar for single-player expansions,” Gamxta wrote in its 10/10 review. “It distills everything that made the base game such a historic role-playing game into a comparatively short 20–25 hour campaign and offers terrific new problems for deeply committed fans to ponder.”
