Bethesda Says There Are Almost 50 New Places in Starfield’s New Planet

In honor of Starfield’s first birthday, Bethesda has released some fresh information on the game’s impending expansion, Shattered Space.

Shattered Space, the game’s first expansion, will be released on September 30, 2024. The sci-fi role-playing shooter was released on September 6, 2023, and was Bethesda’s first new franchise in a long time.

Bethesda hinted at “much more coming” to Starfield beyond Shattered Space in a tweet, but for the time being, the company only shared some new information about the expansion.

The addition of more than fifty new places to find and explore around Va’ruun’kai—the new planet that players can visit in Shattered Space—is the main attraction here. This implies that Shattered Space, when it releases, will keep fans of Starfield occupied.

Additionally, Bethesda stated that there are new grenades to make somewhere that are made from biological stuff you acquire, “and it is disgusting.” Additionally, there are “amazing” new adversaries (“be on the lookout for Redeemed and Vortex Horrors…”).

Finally, Bethesda stated that Zealots, Spacers, and the Crimson Fleet are still a threat to Starfield gamers. The creator went on, “As you explore the world, be on the alert for those taking advantage of the situation.”

While many factors are pulling against Starfield, its appeal of large roleplaying adventures and respectable combat eventually makes its gravitational pull tough to ignore. That was our assessment of the game when we rated it a 7/10 last year.
