Apex Legends Will Allow Users to Purchase Future Battle Passes With Apex Coins Following Backlash
Respawn Entertainment and EA unveiled the new Apex Legends Battle Pass system for Season 22 on July 8. Respawn is apologizing for how it handled the shift and is making some adjustments in reaction to criticism, given that many of the new Battle Pass modifications have proven to be controversial. The original Battle Pass revisions meant that there would be two Battle Passes for every season split rather than just one and that neither could be obtained with the in-game premium currency Apex Coins. Players were consequently unable to use Apex Coins from the previous Battle Pass for the upcoming…

Although no specific details were disclosed, it is encouraging to know that the company is committed to carrying on its history. In response to a shareholder’s question about the company’s plans for the Mega Man series, Capcom stated, “We are continuously thinking about how to develop games for one of our highly-valued…

A new firm led by former Visceral Games general manager Scott Probst and several other former EA developers has been established to create a spiritual successor to the popular 3v3 street basketball series known as NBA Street, which was first launched in the early 2000s. The new project from Play by Play Studios, dubbed The Run: Got Next, is a “character-driven, full court 3v3 hoops game that celebrates the attitude, style, and skills of streetball culture.” Developed in Unreal Engine 5, it allows players to string together a lengthy winning streak against opponents online, either alone or with friends (though…
Human is unexpected once. This free-to-play open-world survival crafting game streamlines popular concepts into more straightforward forms. It is a veritable word salad of genres that are now trendy. Even after spending dozens of hours on it, I am still not ready to put it down. I can not stop thinking about my next supply run, alien monster battle, or designing the elegant ensuite that would truly pull my little homestead together since it is so entertaining and strange. There is no lack of post-apocalyptic survival games available, such as Rust, Fallout 76, 7 Days to Die, and a plethora…
NetherRealm, the creator of Mortal Kombat, has announced layoffs and closed down the mobile game.
The developer of Mortal Kombat, NetherRealm, has announced the shutdown of one of its well-known mobile games and experienced a large round of layoffs. ResetEra users noticed that NetherRealm developers announced their layoffs on LinkedIn, saying that the corporation appears to be dismantling its mobile staff. According to an impacted employee, NetherRealm’s mobile team as a whole was shut down. This group provided live services for several games, including Mortal Kombat Onslaught, Injustice 2, and Mobile. Just one year after its release, in October 2024, Mortal Kombat: Onslaught’s X/Twitter page revealed that the game would be discontinued. The statement said,…
Ian Proulx had realistic hopes for Splitgate, the multiplayer shooter dubbed “Halo with Portals,” when he and his colleagues 1047 finally published the game in 2021. He hoped for gradual expansion and assumed it would do enough over time. Ten47 had less than twenty members at the time, including four engineers. Proulx recalls, “But it was like, nope, this is your moment now, everything’s on fire.” Splitgate’s success exceeded both Proulx’s expectations and the capabilities of its tiny independent staff. According to him, it peaked at almost two million daily active users. The team had to spend the following few…
In another reality, the adored Kirby series from Nintendo and HAL never left Japan. The games starring the pink puffball gradually became known as the kid-friendly, more lenient counterparts to Mario as he and his cute friends took over one platform after another. Mario was lost if he failed to make a jump. Kirby? You can retry your redemption by just pumping the button to float. Younger gamers found it easy to get started with Kirby games and finish the primary missions, but those seeking a bit more difficulty encountered some very tricky obstacles along the way to reaching 100%…
This morning, Nintendo got up and decided to cause chaos by releasing a brief but extremely disturbing teaser for what appears to be a new horror game. Although the name is yet unknown, it might be called Emio or even Smiling Man. What on earth was that? Fans of Nintendo are perplexed. The description of this “Emio” thing is essentially nonexistent. The only other information we have, aside from the teaser, comes from Nintendo tweeting about it this morning using the hashtag #WhoIsEmio? on its accounts in the United States, Europe, and Japan. Additionally, the official Nintendo website merely has…

As Endwalker began with you and the company cruising to the far-off city of Old Sharlayan, so too does Final Fantasy XIV’s Dawntrail expansion start with an extended voyage to a land we have never been before. But instead of making contact with a long-established society, you enter a whole area with which very few people in Eorzea are familiar. Entering Tural, a region influenced by Mesoamerica and Latin America, may initially give you the impression that a group of heroes who have spared vast realms from destruction are on a summer vacation. But I can guarantee you that Dawntrail…
