Sony recently stated that the PlayStation hero shooter Concord will be discontinued on September 6, 2024 and that all players will receive a complete refund. “While many qualities of the experience resonated with gamers, we also understand that other aspects of the game and our original launch did not land the way we would intended,” director Ryan Ellis said in a statement posted on the PlayStation Blog. Eleven Ballistic Moon devs have now either written about being made redundant or designated themselves as “open to work” and looking to start somewhere new immediately. Creator Shinji Mikami of Monster Hunter has stated that the game’s success precludes the possibility of a remake or reboot of the well-liked PlayStation title Dino Crisis. To say that Visions of Mana has high standards to meet would be an understatement. Mana has not released a major game in almost 20 years; in the interim, fans can only be kept entertained by spin-offs and 3D remakes of previous titles. Fortunately, though, the wait was worthwhile. Visions of Mana successfully moves the series into the current era with great combat and class systems, along with a new cast of likable characters, despite a few obvious shortcomings. MySims, a beloved game for the Nintendo Wii and DS, is heading to the Nintendo Switch. A “remaster of MySims of sorts” is reportedly headed to Nintendo’s current hardware sometime in 2024, according to Kotaku, however, they were unable to confirm if the purportedly leaked November 19 release date is accurate. With Monster Hunter Wilds, released in 2025, Capcom will finally do away with gendered armor from the Monster Hunter series, allowing any character to wear any gear. After more than 20 games and 20 years, game director Yuya Tokuda finally announced the highly anticipated feature during a Monster Hunter Wilds presentation.
