As Sony shuts down servers just two weeks after launch, fans of Valve’s shooter Deadlock are bringing back lost Concord players who, as of September 6, 2024, will no longer be able to access the hero shooter. Launched August 23, 2024, on the PlayStation 5 and PC, the game received a pitiful amount of players, making Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League—which Warner Bros. Discovery president David Zaslav called a disappointment and cost the company $200 million in revenue—look like a giant. Eleven days later, Sony took the game off sale, and three days later, it started to shut down…

Sony recently stated that the PlayStation hero shooter Concord will be discontinued on September 6, 2024 and that all players will receive a complete refund. “While many qualities of the experience resonated with gamers, we also understand that other aspects of the game and our original launch did not land the way we would intended,” director Ryan Ellis said in a statement posted on the PlayStation Blog. Therefore, Concord will be pulled offline so that Firewalk Studios, the developer, and Sony can “explore possibilities, including ones that will better reach our players.” Anyone who bought the game through PlayStation Direct…

The 2024 recreation of 2010’s Wii-only Epic Mickey has a certain, well, magical quality. I’m more convinced than ever that this adventure, which has an impressive new coat of paint, will thankfully not be lost to the merciless hands of time, like some that sadly came before it, after playing a demo of Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed at D23. For those who haven’t played the original, the game is a quest through a realm of forgotten Disney characters and attractions called the Wasteland. The thing about Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed that most impressed me was how much it feels and…

Until Dawn was remade for the PlayStation 5 and PC by Ballistic Moon, who also laid off many employees. Eleven Ballistic Moon devs have now either written about being made redundant or designated themselves as “open to work” and looking to start somewhere new immediately. Originally, Eurogamer reported that at least two team members had announced their departure on LinkedIn. Although it’s unknown how many employees were let off or if there were more than 11, Gamexta has contacted Ballistic Moon for an explanation. “Like many others in this wonderful but turbulent industry, I am sadly being made redundant from…

Creator Shinji Mikami of Monster Hunter has stated that the game’s success precludes the possibility of a remake or reboot of the well-liked PlayStation title Dino Crisis. The well-known developer told Eurogamer that while he’s shocked that fans are clamoring for more of the series, he doesn’t believe it’s because of another well-liked series that centers on slaying large animals. “I’m very surprised to hear that [fans want more Dino Crisis],” Mikami stated. The marvels of dinosaurs and the things that can be accomplished with them have been captured by Monster Hunter in recent years. Since Monster Hunter has grown…

To say that Visions of Mana has high standards to meet would be an understatement. Mana has not released a major game in almost 20 years; in the interim, fans can only be kept entertained by spin-offs and 3D remakes of previous titles. Fortunately, though, the wait was worthwhile. Visions of Mana successfully moves the series into the current era with great combat and class systems, along with a new cast of likable characters, despite a few obvious shortcomings. It’s not only a wonderful Mana game, but it’s become one of my personal favorite JRPGs in years. One term that…

MySims, a beloved game for the Nintendo Wii and DS, is heading to the Nintendo Switch. A “remaster of MySims of sorts” is reportedly headed to Nintendo’s current hardware sometime in 2024, according to Kotaku, however, they were unable to confirm if the purportedly leaked November 19 release date is accurate. The game, which debuted on the Nintendo Wii in 2007, was first made available on the Nintendo Switch, as ResetEra fans first discovered. If this version is authentic, it is unknown if it is a complete remake, a remaster, or something in between. As a follow-up to Electronic Arts’…
