Until Dawn was remade for the PlayStation 5 and PC by Ballistic Moon, who also laid off many employees. Eleven Ballistic Moon devs have now either written about being made redundant or designated themselves as “open to work” and looking to start somewhere new immediately. Creator Shinji Mikami of Monster Hunter has stated that the game’s success precludes the possibility of a remake or reboot of the well-liked PlayStation title Dino Crisis. To say that Visions of Mana has high standards to meet would be an understatement. Mana has not released a major game in almost 20 years; in the interim, fans can only be kept entertained by spin-offs and 3D remakes of previous titles. Fortunately, though, the wait was worthwhile. Visions of Mana successfully moves the series into the current era with great combat and class systems, along with a new cast of likable characters, despite a few obvious shortcomings. MySims, a beloved game for the Nintendo Wii and DS, is heading to the Nintendo Switch. A “remaster of MySims of sorts” is reportedly headed to Nintendo’s current hardware sometime in 2024, according to Kotaku, however, they were unable to confirm if the purportedly leaked November 19 release date is accurate. With Monster Hunter Wilds, released in 2025, Capcom will finally do away with gendered armor from the Monster Hunter series, allowing any character to wear any gear. On October 15, 2024, Microsoft plans to launch two new Xbox Series X consoles and one new Xbox Series S console, which will include an Xbox Series X that will only be available digitally. Due to ongoing issues, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has been postponed once more. The Seattle-based vampire game was originally scheduled for release in the fall of 2024, but it will now debut on PC, Xbox Series X and S, and PlayStation 5 in the first half of 2025. The delay was attributed to Paradox’s “commitment to delivering high-quality games to our players,” according to a statement attributed to Mattias Lilja, deputy CEO for publisher Paradox Interactive, and Alex Skidmore, creative director at developer The Chinese Room, which took over development duties after original studio Hardsuit Labs was abandoned.…
Remastered Goat Simulator, released in 2014, is scheduled for release. Famously, the Goat Simulator allows users to explore a sandbox fun house, run amok as goats, and get into all kinds of mischief. Although the game’s developer, Coffee Stain, said that Goat Simulator Remastered has better graphics, all of the “loved” in-game glitches from the original version are still present.
