Shadow of the Erdtree’s New Thrusting Shields Are Adored by the Elden Ring Community

Is Shadow of the Erdtree, the newest Elden Ring DLC, too challenging? Though opinions vary, if you are having trouble, there are plenty of solutions to help make the DLC more manageable. Thrusting shields, one of the new weapons included in the aforementioned DLC, is one of those that the community now adores the most.

There is general agreement among the Elden Ring group that these shields are good. Excellent. The Elden Ring subreddit has seen scores of threads praising them over the past several weeks. One specific topic, with the subject “New Thrusting shields are the strongest weapons in the entire game and it is not even close,” has recently shot to the top of the subreddit. The NG+ DLC was destroyed. Thrusting shields are incredibly versatile as they may be charmed with any form of damage or affinity. Furthermore, it is a lot of fun to give every boss the finger!”

The community is in agreement based on all of the upvotes and comments. While some players maintain that the shields’ exceptional performance is intentional, others claim they are simply too good and are faulty.

Thrusting shields are a new weapon type that was included in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, along with other weapons like perfume bottles, throwing blades, and hand-to-hand techniques, for those who are unfamiliar. Regretfully, the Dueling Shield and the Carian Thrusting Shield are the only two of these shields in the whole game. Players can use these shields to strike and protect simultaneously. Two-handed thrusting shield builds are particularly effective since they let users launch powerful lunging stabs that deliver a lot of damage while also deterring hostile attacks. Furthermore, the build gains even more strength when you add certain flask or talisman benefits—like the Deflecting Hardtear or the Two-Handed Sword Talisman—on top of that.

With a saxophone acting as a controller, one player was able to defeat Messmer thanks to the incredible thrusting shields.

Whatever your opinion of the thrusting shield build, it was just a matter of time until players discovered absurd new build combinations in Shadow of the Erdtree that enable “cheese” boss strategies. Even while the expansion might be brutal, strategies like these can aid gamers in overcoming the most difficult battles. That or simply gathering enough Scadutree Fragments as per the advice of everybody.
